Acumen Financial Planning is working to ensure that financial planning is accessible to all. As well as servicing its usual clients, the firm has recently launched SpringGen Advice, a digital-only financial planning service for young professionals. It is also working towards introducing a new family wealth-specific division specialising in intergenerational planning.

The firm continues to grow both organically and inorganically. It acquired Glasgow-based Loch Fyne at the end of 2021 and has also purchased Aberdeen-based Medical & Dental, which provides specialist advice for doctors and dentists and will act as a specialist division within Acumen.

Acumen and its director Keith Mackie are huge advocates for financial education. In the past year the team has developed its financial education video series for schools, which can now be accessed by all secondary schools. The videos cover topics including tax, payslips, credit cards and debt.
