
Austyn Smith Associates puts wellbeing at the centre of everything it does. This approach takes many forms. At the client level, the firm sends quarterly client care emails that ask simply: ‘Is there anything you need from me right now?’ The responses dictate who needs to be prioritised. At an employee level, the team finishes early every Friday, gets an extra half day of holiday per quarter, and can take birthdays off work.
The firm has sustained a recurring income of 97%, which has allowed it to invest in the team, with two new trainee advisers and a new graduate trainee. It has also invested in a new office: a large ‘eco-barn’ with indoor and outdoor meeting spaces and wonderful views.
