In 2022 Eldon became 100% employee-owned. The ‘next gen’ directors, including Gemma Siddle, were identified several years ago and have now stepped into their roles as business leaders.
They have received plenty of help in taking the reins. Training included shadowing and working alongside their predecessors and undertaking training courses in management skills and coaching.
One of their first decisions was to research and develop a new back-office system. This helped the new team transition to leadership, improved client service and streamlined the workflow for advisers.
Eldon has also developed a programme of free financial guidance sessions for the public. Anyone can book an appointment and attend an hour-long, one-to-one with an expert.
Now, the next leaders are now being identified. With a strong focus on qualifications, there is likely to be a pipeline: three staff achieved chartered status this year with another three expected to do so soon.
