Frazer James
James Mackay
Bristol

Frazer James launched three years ago without any clients. Now it has more than 150 and £150m in assets under advice.

Managing director James MacKay has encouraged growth by targeting senior professionals and business owners. The firm has established a niche client segment, with employees of big tech firms such as Microsoft targeted through marketing. Appealing to this client base has also required investing and developing Frazer James’s own technology to provide an efficient service.

The firm produces free resources in the form of guides, vlogs and videos to help with financial education and engagement. It has also started to provide coaching and consultancy to clients who are employees of small businesses around investing, risk and protection.

Recruitment has supported the business growth. Frazer James recently added a trainee financial adviser, who is going through an in-house training plan, and is recruiting another paraplanner.

Next up is a company rebrand and website redesign later this year.
