Having bought Welsh firm Magenta from founder Julie Lord and taken on a new planner in 2021, this past year for managing director Gretchen Betts has been about settling into Magenta ‘2’ and investing in staff and consistency of messaging.
The firm has moved to an office better suited to hybrid working and has revamped its website to target three key areas: women, positive impact investing, and life changes. An interactive video on the homepage features Betts addressing clients and prospects about the areas of financial planning that most interest them.
Magenta is passionate about improving the experience of financial planning for women – both as clients and as a potential career. More than 70% of the firm’s new client enquiries are from women, and 60% of them want to invest sustainably.
As part of a drive to support diversity and inclusion, Betts and business manager Allyson Hopkins became LGBT champions, having completed a course with the LGBT Foundation.
