Tees Financial has seen its team grow rapidly. It has hired seven new starters since 2020, and it now has 13 fee-earning advisers, including two planner hires this year.

It is not finished with recruitment yet. It has now launched the Tees Trainee Adviser Academy, an apprenticeship programme that aims to get new joiners into the advice profession by offering a placement at the firm and supporting them in studying for a diploma in financial planning with the Chartered Insurance Institute.

The firm, led by managing director James Appleby, is constantly looking at ways to improve its proposition and recently introduced customer relationship management platform Curo to better manage client data, and a new client portal to give clients a better oversight of their portfolios.

In order to help young sportsmen with finance, Tees Financial has launched a free financial education programme for the Essex County Cricket Club Academy and hopes to expand this to other sports teams.
